Assessed Value Increase for 2022

A message from the Burt Township Assessor, Derek Morrison.

“In general, assessed values in Burt Township saw notable increases for the 2022 tax year. These increases were a direct result of market studies performed at the county level which determined that our overall assessments were lower than actual sale prices in the area. A few key factors causing the increase in sale prices include the current low interest rates as well as high costs of building materials. However, it is important for property owners to keep in mind that the amount they pay in annual property taxes is based on taxable value, NOT assessed value.”

Assessments have just been mailed. If you have any questions, contact the Burt Township Assessor.
