Marc was sworn into office on Saturday, November 18, 2006 pending a permanent appointee. On December 7, 2006, the electors voted to continue Marc's appointment to the office until November 2008.

The Treasurer's primary responsibility is to collect the real and personal property taxes, this includes delinquent taxes. The Treasurer is responsible for dispersing township checks and keeping the official township receipt of revenue and  expenditures. The Treasurer is also responsible for investments for the township.

The Treasurer must post a surety bond and is required to appoint a deputy.

Marc is also the editor/owner of the Grand Marais Gazette.

Deputy Treasurer - James T. Seibert

Former Treasurer, Jim Seibert, was sworn in as Marc's deputy and is actively assisting Marc in learning the duties of the office.
